Central Coast Community College

The Central Coast Community College is a not for profit, registered training organisation, with a 30+ year history of providing learning opportunities on the Central Coast NSW.

Project location: Central Coast, NSW

Central Coast Community College is being funded to establish a network of digital technology support groups, known as “Central Coast Digital Connect”, across the Central Coast NSW, based at each of the 13 libraries run by the Central Coast Council. Each of these library locations will be recruited as Be Connected Network Partners, supporting a minimum of 50 older Australians per location. A key focus for each group will be recruiting and training a team of volunteer Digital Mentors. Each library with the support of the college will actively support this volunteer team through ongoing training and social opportunities. “Central Coast Digital Connect” will provide a sustainable, leveraged model designed to support older Australians in developing their digital literacy skills and confidence within a social context. Through this project and the partners they are working with, Central Coast Community College will support 500 learners who will register on the Be Connected Learning Portal.
