Get Online Week Event grants are one-off $1,500 grants available to all Be Connected Network Partners to host an event during Get Online Week (14 - 20 October 2019) to promote your organisation and reach new people in your community.

Get Online Week is an international digital inclusion campaign organised by Good Things Foundation. Last year, over 750 events were held across the country giving thousands of Australians the opportunity to try one new thing online as a next step to improving their digital skills. This year's campaign will take place from 14 - 20 October 2019, and all Get Online Week Event grant holders will engage their communities and spread the message that gaining digital skills can improve people’s lives. Through BBQ's, digital scavenger hunts, morning & afternoon teas and open days, we'll help people in our communities with limited digital skills to make the most of the internet.

Round one applications open 3 June - 5 July 2019.
Round two applications 
open 8 July - 9 August 2019.

Network Partners are eligible to apply for one $1,500 Get Online Week Event grant in 2019.

Attracting community members to attend your event.

Parkland Villas Ellenbrook, WA held a BBQ & Digital Skills Get Online Week event for their residents last year. They spent their event grant funds on catering for their morning tea and BBQ lunch.

“Offering free catering of a morning tea and BBQ lunch was our “carrot” to get people at our event who would not otherwise attend.  We also purchased an additional iPad so we had more available on the day and for use for our ongoing activities.”

Am I eligible?

In order to apply for this funding, you must:

  • Be a Be Connected Network Partner. If you're not already part of the Network, click here to join.
  • Agree to host an event during Get Online Week.

What can the grant be used for?

The funding can be spent on activities that can be justified as supporting your Get Online Week event, such as:

  • New equipment or prizes
  • Advertising and promotion
  • Catering
  • Staff costs
  • Venue hire

The funding cannot be used on building materials and capital works.

What do I have to do for the grant?

Each organisation receiving a Get Online Week Event grant will be required to host an event during Get Online Week. Need help thinking of an event idea? Have a look at our Get Online Week Event Ideas.

All Network Partners will be required to complete a detailed report of their Get Online Week activity including funding expenditure. The report should outline when, where and for how long the event took place, how many people attended, images, quotes and stories, as well as itemised expenditure.
